 East Coast SwingChampion Ballroom offers the Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Twin Cities private and group dance East Coast Swing lessons. East Coast Swing is a true American dance that descended from the Lindy Hop and Jitterbug. It was made famous by the Big Band music of the 1940’s and continues to be popular to this day. It is a lively dance and it done with a slight bounce in the basic movement. Many enjoy the characteristic spins, kicks and the variety of underarm turns. Popular patterns include:
The Swing is primarily a spot dance, but some movement is possible.
