 RumbaChampion Ballroom offers the Minneapolis, St. Paul and Twin Cities area private and group dance Rumba lessons Rumba is usually a good prerequisite to learning the Cha Cha or Mambo. It has all the same hip movement, but is somewhat slower and has fewer steps in its basic pattern. Its music is more romantic and therefore its style is more sensuous. You will notice the hip action quite a bit more in the Rumba. It shares the same basic, the box step, as the Waltz.
There are two different Rumbas- the American Styles Rumba, which is quicker- and the International Style, which is slower. The American Style Rumba is the easier if the two to dance socially.
