Samba is from Brazil and is danced to lively, rhythmical music. It has an up and down action when the knees are bent and then straightened as well as a pulsing action in the hips. The dance became famous in the U.S. in the 1930’s by Carmen Miranda. Samba uses hip action and can travel along the dance floor more than the other Latin dances. It is free and fun.
