Scheduling your wedding dance lessons

Everybody’s schedule is different. That’s why taking wedding dance lessons at Champion Ballroom works so well for so many wedding couples! You can take your private wedding dance lessons from 10 am -9 pm Monday-Friday, 10 am-4pm on Saturdays, and Sundays by appointment. Groups classes are always a part of every private lesson wedding package. Group classes are in the evenings during the weekdays. You can choose any group class to attend.

Choosing your music

Most wedding couples take private dance instruction because they like to choose their own personal music for their wedding dance. Just bring your dance music with you, and your instructor will choreograph a dance especially for your song. If you don’t have a song, Champion Ballroom can assist you in choosing a great piece of music according to your tastes. Your wedding song can be a traditional dance such as a Waltz or a Foxtrot or Swing, or it can be a completely choreographed, interpretive routine. Some people have even added simple lifts and drops in their routine. It’s your wedding day, your first wedding dance as a couple!

When should you start?

Usually, giving yourself plenty of time before your wedding to learn your wedding dance is optimal.  But you can start your lessons any time before your big day!
If you start well before your wedding day, you can take 1-2 lessons a week to prepare.  When you are an enrolled student at Champion Ballroom, you are also able to use the ballroom to practice! Just take a private lesson on any given week, and you can practice any time during that week, during hours of operation.
If you are starting your lessons closer to your wedding day, taking your lessons close together gives you the repetition necessary to prepare. Our schedule is very flexible and we will work around your schedule.

Lessons for the wedding party

Many wedding parties come in for an impromptu dance lesson to prepare for weddings. Your wedding party can also attend the group classes for a drop in rate or you can schedule a special class for you group. These Custom Group Classes are priced according to the number of people in your party.

What to wear

Wear comfortable clothes and shoes for your lessons. Be sure to bring the shoes you will dance in at your wedding. Your instructor will take into account the kind of wedding gown you will be wearing when choreographing your routine.

Simply call Champion Ballroom at 952-934-2160 for your complimentary ½ hour lesson. At the end of the lesson your instructor will show you the different package options available. You will receive a New Student Discount if you enroll on a package that day!
